Base for surf, cafés and remote work — busy, pricey at night, the opposite of quiet Ubud.

Canggu, Bali

Canggu is the call if you want a lively beach: surf schools, specialty coffee, coworking and nightlife. It is a dense tourist village, with serious traffic on Batu Bolong in the afternoon.

From DPS allow 45–90 minutes. Four to six nights make sense if surf and cafés are the point; pair with Ubud instead of day-tripping temples every day.

Beaches have current; swim where there are lifeguards. Nights are loud. Families with small children often prefer Sanur or Nusa Dua.

Seminyak is an easy hop south; Uluwatu is not, unless you leave a wide traffic window. The map shows surf schools and cafés in the area.
